Orange Lined Triggerfish

The orange lined triggerfish has one of the most complex pattern arrangement found on any species of fish. The arrangement of patterns combined with the array of colours create a striking profile unlike any other. But don’t let the beautiful apperance fool you, this species can pack a deadly punch. Located within the mouth of this individual are a pair of coral crushing teeth. While the primary focus is to crush coral and crustaceans, the orange lined triggerfish will occasionally weld its teeth as a defence mechanism. Divers who venture too close are the most common recipient of a lunge to their mask.
